Chewbacca in August 2004

One day in the middle of August, while the Athens Olympics is open,
when the peak of the heat wave in Tokyo finally passed, I visited Chewbacca.
Chewbacca was fine!

I couldn't find Chewbacca anywhere in his pen when I arrived.
However, I found somethig like the entrance of a tunnel near the glass!
It was proper size for Chewbacca to sleep.
I was sure that he was in it!
I have waited for him to come out for an hour
and
I finally saw something move in the dark burrow.
Chewbacca was in it as I expected!

I could see his eyes, nose and teeth (he was yawning),
though he turned over and went to sleep again.


Chewbacca, you dug a good burrow to get out of the heat, didn't you?

According to the keeper, Chewbacca began to dig two weeks ago
and he found that it passed through this day.

Let's just hope that his house wouldn't break down when it rains.

--Battling the Rope--

Chewbacca was strong!
Chewbacca battled the log and rope four or five times from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. while taking a rest.

He went into his burrow when he took a rest.

Of course, the scar on my head got better.
My hair finally seems to have grown a bit.
If you watch my head, you'll see the outline of the mark of wound, though.
I wonder if I was good and didn't head-butt the log during the hot summer.
