Chewbacca during the rainy season

June is the rainy season in Tokyo where Chewbacca lives.
We usually have much rain in this season though it doesn't necessarily rain day by day.

It was slightly cloudy in the afternoon on June 10th.
Chewbacca was absorbed in moving the stump during most of his waking hours.

About two o'clock in the afternoon


Chewbacca is almost completely buried in the ground.

He suddenly got up at about three and moved to the big stone in his enclosure.

Sleeping hours

He sometimes opened his eyes.

　
He sometimes scratched his back and scratched his head, also.

	Hi Stump, I caught you!
Shall I take you over there?
	It's so easy for me to move you because it's flat here.
Here we are.
	Excuse me, may I take a ride on you?

	Let's move a little more, shall we?
We have come into the puddle of rainwater. Are you ok, Stump? I'm ok, though.
	Stunt! Look at my left forefoot.

I was caught up in moving the stump today.

Chewbacca in the morning on June 15th

I visited Chewbacca first thing in the morning to see his eating breakfast.
Unfortunately he had already eaten his breakfast and
he was sleeping when I arrived at a quarter to ten.

The keeper whom I happened to see later said that he gave Chewbacca
a sweet potato and pellets for monkeys that day and he ate them in just about no time

Some gardeners were working in the wallabies' enclosure which is next to Chewbacca's.
According to one of them, Chewbacca was showing his teeth trembling
(wild Chewbacca!)
when they began to work at nine.
He took no notice of humans after that, though.

He moved for only five minutes during my stay from 9:45 to noon.

He suddenly got up at ten thirty and went to the door of his house,
but he came full circle soon and fell asleep.
