Chewbacca in August

August 3
Summer has come at last.
It was late in Tokyo this year, though.
I have to be careful not to let myself get too hot.
I'm weak in summer because of the heat.
The soil is the coolest thing in my pen in summer,
and so I slept a lot on the sand bed under the roof.

13:45
I was sleeping under the roof. Can you see me?

13:50
I suddenly got up since I thought I heard the keeper's footsteps.
Since I didn't see him, I played with the ball toy for a while.

　

　

　

Around 14:00
I slept under the roof for ten minutes or so.


　

14:10ー14:40
I heard the keeper's footsteps again.
I jumped to my feet and hurried to the ball toy.

I played with it hard, digging the ground hard, too.
Two keepers came to the wallaroos' pen today.

The keepers have left and I stopped playing with the ball toy.
I moved to another place.

I yawned again and again even though I was playing with the ball toy so hard.
I wonder why I yawned so many times?

　



　

14:40-16:00
I was so tired that I slept under the roof, putting dirt on my body.

I think that the visitors who could see me change my position were lucky
since I slept for a long time today.











The piece of wood that I'm holding is one of the four pillars of the roof.


　





　

　

I moved to the bed at 15:30 and slept there for ten minutes or so.




　

　

However, I went back under the roof.
The sand bed was cooler than the wooden bed.

Around 16:00
I didn't notice when the keeper was approaching the gate
to open the door of my room.
I usually hurry to the door as soon as I hear his footsteps, though.

Soon the keeper called me, and I hurried to the room.
The door had already opened and he was waiting for me.
I wonder why I didn't hear his footsteps?




I stopped off and looked at the keeper.


I entered the room slowly.
